Collective Reward #043: Wanderlust Gear Beargrass and Rattlesnake Bags

Wanderlust Beargrass

Wanderlust’s Beargrass Top Tube Bag provides a convenient way to increase your bikepacking setup’s carrying capacity, offering easy access to small items like energy bars, tools, or a camera. They designed it to be a tad larger than most existing options on the market, and its daisy chain mountain system solves the problem of overlapping straps when you’re also running a frame bag. The Beargrass is constructed from a DWR-coated Cordura, gets some added rigidity from two removable HDPE plastic inserts, features a layer of closed cell foam on the front/bottom panel to reduce rattling of contents and provide some padding for electronics, and has a water-resistant YKK Uretek zipper that can be easily opened and closed with one hand. And according to Wanderlust, it holds a whopping 10 Clif Bars (though we can’t recommend a strictly Clif Bar-based diet).

The Rattlesnake Stem/Bar Bag is Wanderlust’s take on the classic stem bag—a bikepacking essential. Its unique square shape means it fits snugly in the nook between the stem and handlebars, and the 360º daisy chain attachment system allows you to attach it securely at any angle. It’s large enough to accommodate a 32oz Nalgene bottle and features two external pockets that provide on-the-go access to items like a cell phone or snacks. The Rattlesnake is built from durable DWR Cordura outer shell, a bright orange interior DWR Packcloth that folds out for easy cleaning, a Nexus buckle on the lower fork crown attachment strap, and a Ripstop Nylon enclosure with reflective bungee cord.
