Over the past few years, we’ve had our eyes on Hunt Bike Wheels and their wide range of quality carbon and aluminum wheels offered at a variety of sensible price points. We’ve also taken notice of their collaborations with UK-based Mason Cycles, with whom they developed the Mason x Hunt 650B Adventure Sport Disc Wheelset, a pair of durable, affordable wheels geared specifically toward bikepackers and gravel riders. Created with all-road bikes like the Mason Bokeh in mind, Hunt built the 650B Adventure Sport Disc rims from a tough 6066-T6 heat-treated aluminum with a generous 25mm internal width / 29mm external width that features their H_LOCK tubeless-ready rim bed profile, designed to make for easy and secure seating of tubeless tires. Using 28 stainless steel J-bend spokes, those rims are laced to Hunt centerlock disc mount hubs and offered in a number of different axle standards and with Shimano, SRAM, or Campagnolo freehubs running 8 to 12 speeds.

These wheels weigh in at 1594g for the pair and the upper recommended rider weight limit is 253 pounds. And as with all of Hunt Wheels’ offerings, these wheels come with a three-year warranty that covers material or workmanship defects.

Adventure Sport Disc Wheelset Specs

  • Rims: 29mm external width, 25mm internal width, made from, ultra strong 6066-T6 heat treated aluminum. Disc specific. Asymmetric design for balanced spoke tensions.
  • Hubs: HUNT 4 Season Disc J-bend spoke hub, 5 degree RapidEngage 4-pawl freehub, with H_CERAMIK coating for enhanced durability. Center-lock disc mount.
  • Axles: Fits all current axle sizes and are easy to change; Front – QR, Bolt thru 12/15/9mm, Rear – QR, Bolt thru 12×142, 12×135, 10×135.
  • Tubeless ready and features H_LOCK bead-seat for easy and secure tubeless installation.
  • Weighs 1594g for the complete pair.
  • Includes tubeless tape & valves, spare spokes, axle adapters, and a pair of 6-bolt disc adaptors.
