To kick off our new round of Collective Rewards, we’ve teamed up with the crew from Old Man Mountain in Bend, Oregon, to give away a couple of their new racks to members of our Bikepacking Collective. For this prize drawing, two randomly selected supporters will be receiving one of the versatile and slender new Elkhorn racks, a $148 value for each winner.
Logan and Neil reviewed the new Elkhorn recently (find that linked at the bottom of this post), and they both had overwhelmingly positive impressions of it. Built from oversized aluminum tubing, the 660g Elkhorn is one of the most adaptable racks we’ve ever come across. Thanks to its unique flippable design, it works equally well as a front or rear rack depending on your hauling needs. It has a 25-pound load capacity, and three-pack mounts on the legs further expand your cargo-carrying possibilities.
Old Man Mountain’s Elkhorn is available in Short and Tall versions to fit a broad range of frame and wheel/tire sizes. As for mounting, it can attach to standard bosses or directly to the axle via the optional fit kit for thru-axles or quick-release wheels. And, owing to its clever design, it’ll fit on anything from classic 135mm dropouts to fatbikes, and it’s even compatible (and rigorously tested) with full-suspension rigs.
