We’re hardly surprised that the Hammerhead Karoo 2 head unit has quickly risen in popularity since its launch in 2020. It certainly caught our attention, and we’ve published both video and written reviews of the Karoo 2 in the time since. Several of us on the BIKEPACKING.com team use one regularly, so we were excited when Hammerhead offered to give a unit to one randomly selected member of our Bikepacking Collective for our latest Collective Reward. Our lucky winner will receive a Karoo 2 and a custom color shell in their choice of color, a $440 value.

If you’re not yet familiar, Hammerhead’s Karoo 2 is a powerful GPS bike computer with an alluringly bright, crisp, and easy-to-read 3.2″ touchscreen. It packs in a ton of smart features and design touches that add up to make it one of the most user-friendly computers on the market. It makes syncing and following routes easy, features maps with rich detail, has well-placed physical buttons that allow for seamless operation in the rain and cold, and is exceptionally well built.

The Karoo 2 has robust support on the back end, too, and their team routinely releases updates and adds new features (such as the recent Climber function, which paints a detailed picture of upcoming climbs so you know exactly what to expect).
