The Washington-made High Above Venture3d Hip Pack is a mid-sized bag that packs in an impressive assortment of technical touches, adding up to a super utilitarian, comfortable, sleek, and user-friendly hauler. It sets a new standard for modern hip packs, and it impressed Logan enough in his recent review that we’re now giving one away to one randomly selected member of the Bikepacking Collective, a $200 value for our lucky winner.
In addition to its clever pocket layout, quick-release Fidlock flap, technical fabric construction, and versatile size, Logan reported that what truly sets the Venture3d apart is its surprisingly plush and grippy 3D-printed lattice back panel, which makes it comfortable for wearing on long rides, even when loaded down. He said it feels as good as it looks, which is saying something, given its sharp design.
The High Above Venture3d weighs in at 357 grams (12.6 ounces) and is built from hardwearing Challenge UltraWeave 400x fabric with a 210D nylon ripstop liner. It measures 9.5″ x 6″ x 3” and has about a 2.5-liter capacity. There’s one internal zippered pocket, two internal stretch pockets, and an internal phone sleeve pocket to keep things organized, and a key lanyard makes sure car keys don’t wander away. Wing pockets on either side are great for small items that are accessed frequently.
