On the first day of 2024, Swiss ultra-distance cyclist Marin de Saint-Exupéry made the first pedal strokes of a planned 11-month, 30,000-kilometer bikepacking trip aboard his loaded Fairlight Hold hardtail. His goal is to participate in the Atlas Mountain Race in Morocco (check!), Hellenic Mountain Race in Greece, and Silk Road Mountain Race in Kyrgyzstan, arriving at each start line under his own power instead of flying.

UK-based filmmaker Lloyd J. Wright created this six-minute video introducing Marin’s vivacious spirit and illuminating his hopes and motivations for this massive undertaking. Watch it below, followed by a handful of still photos, and stay tuned for more updates on Marin’s journey in the months ahead.
