Here’s how Andy Hilliard, the Product Line Director at Crankbrothers, describes the updated Crankbrothers Highline Dropper Post: “The new Highline was designed to evolve, improve, and simplify our dropper post platform. By reducing insertion length, refining performance, and adding features like internal travel adjustment, we’ve made it easier for riders to maximize drop and achieve the best possible fit for their bike and body.”

The new adjustable travel system lets users fine-tune the dropper travel for the perfect fit. Instead of a notched collar, like other adjustable posts, the Highline uses a key to reduce travel by up to 20mm in 5mm increments. No special tools are required, and the post doesn’t need to be fully removed from the bike. The new Highline uses a sealed emulsification cartridge (a small, self-contained, nitrogen-filled cartridge) instead of a tuneable version, in favor of proven reliability and a smoother return speed.

The new Highline is available in 27.2mm, 30.9mm, 31.6mm, and 34.9mm diameters. Depending on the size, it’s available in travel ranging from 60mm to 230mm. The 27.2mm version uses a non-adjustable IFP cartridge, and the 60mm and 80mm travel posts are also non-adjustable. The new Highline uses a two-bolt saddle clamp with a quick-release rear bolt, a low 45mm stack height, and the actuator on the bottom of the post is nearly half the size of the Highline 3 and 7.

Weights vary depending on the size and length. The lightest in the lineup is the 27.2mm/100mm model at 376 grams, and the 34.9mm/230mm version is the heaviest at 732 grams. Each post includes Jagwire cable and housing, but no lever. The Highline dropper post comes with a five-year warranty, and all versions cost $249 USD.
