Informing the community is at the heart of our mission here at BIKEPACKING.com. We’ve always been a resource first. Beyond our many globe-spanning routes, experience-backed reviews, and detailed planning guides, our MYOBG (Make Your Own Bikepacking Gear) tutorials are a favorite among the team. Sure, we always enjoy testing innovative new bikepacking and camping gear, but we’re equally excited about the fascinating (and more affordable) world of making your own gear—whether that’s a bikepacking bag, a rack, a cycling cap, a beer-can stove, or even a hand-carved spoon.
Given how much value they offer to readers—especially those without the means to splurge on high-end gear—we’re again putting out an open call for DIY tutorials. If you’ve made your own bikepacking or camping gear and want to share that knowledge with the community in the form of a how-to guide (and get paid for your efforts!), please fill out our contribution form with your proposed DIY tutorial topic and a few sample photos.
