After three years of development and decades of perfecting shoe-pedal interfaces, Crankbrothers has introduced their first lineup of mountain bike shoes for both clip-in and flat pedals. Learn more about the new Mallet, Mallet E, and Stamp shoes here…
Best known for their mountain bike pedals, Crankbrothers just debuted its full lineup of mountain bike shoes, which they claim addresses several inconsistencies related to the pedal-to-shoe interface. The new range features proprietary rubber sole compounds, their Match System, which optimizes pedal engagement for both Crankbrothers and SPD, high-quality materials, and three different closure systems for each model. The Mallet is their clipless downhill / enduro shoe, the Mallet E is for enduro / trail with a more aggressive tread and stiffer sole, and the Stamp is their new versatile flat pedal shoe. Each model is offered in 17 different sizes, from EU 37 to 48 (US 5-14), including half sizes.
Check out a quick breakdown of each shoe below, including pricing and colour options for each model available.
Crankbrothers Mallet Shoe
The Crankbrothers Mallet shoe is their more downhill-focused shoe, featuring extended cleat channels for big descents and downhill-style riding. The cleat area is ramped for easier clip-in / out and is made of a mid-friction MC1 rubber compound for quick exits. It has a cushioned EVA midsole for shock absorption, perforated mesh panels for breathability, and TPU reinforced sections on the toe and heel for protection and abrasion resistance. The Mallet shoe comes with a Crankbrothers shim and cleat pre-installed.
