The Service Course Launches ATEG: All Terrain Exploration Gear

Girona, Spain-based The Service Course just announced a new capsule collection that includes apparel, gear, trips, and a high-end bike collaboration. They’re calling at ATEG: All Terrain Exploration Gear, and they say it was created to “inspire extraordinary, life-changing adventures by bike.”

From The Service Course: “The spirit of adventure has always lived within The Service Course, and ATEG is the natural next step for us. This first capsule release includes collaborations with some of our longest-standing and most pioneering partners, as well as adventure trips to the most inspiring destinations we’ve ever been to, near or far. Following shortly behind will be the first collection of ATEG technical clothing, due for release in Spring 2021.” Find an overview of the new range below.

ATEG X QUOC: GRAN TOURER GRAVEL SHOES

The Service Course collaborated with Quoc to release a limited edition ATEG version of their popular Gran Tourer shoes, featuring an exclusive two-tone colorway and 3M beads in the paint that give a subtle reflective finish. They’re available in UK sizes 6.5 to 11.5 and retail for €250 ($300).

ATEG X CORDEL: HIP PACK

Working closely with Cordel, a small handmade bike bag brand based in Madrid, The Service Course developed an oversized hip pack that they say is a more comfortable alternative to riding with a backpack, and one that allows for easy access to essential items while riding. It features a Cordura construction, a magnetic Fidlock buckle, Hypalon wings for a snug fit, and a handlebar attachment system for use as a bar bag. It’s available in three colors and retails for €165 ($200).

ATEG WOOL SOCKS

A staple for any ride, the new collection also includes wool socks that are made from a premium merino wool blend. There isn’t much information available about them on the site, but they’re available in two colors (green and grey) and three sizes (small, medium, and large). They retail for €18 ($22) per pair.

ATEG X BELLE CYCLES: ATER 2.O

We first featured TSC founder Christian Meier’s ATER (All Terrain Exploration Rig) back in February, and it’s now available as a complete bike as part of the ATEG capsule. Built by Enrico Belle of Belle Cycles, the ATER was originally created as the ideal bike to take on the Atlas Mountain Race in Morocco. The ATER 2.0 is built around the new ENVE Adventure Fork, which affords clearance for 29 x 2.3″ tires. Its stock geometry has been tuned based on thousands of kilometers of riding aboard the ATER 1.0. The ATER 2.0 will be built in batches of three, with the first frames arriving in mid-January 2021. Completes come specced with a dream build that will set buyers back a hefty €7,255 ($8,800).

Adventure Trips

In addition to all the gear mentioned above, the ATEG capsule also includes guided trips to three inspiring adventure destinations: Andalusia (April 2021), Tajikistan (June 2021), and Corsica (September 2021). The service course says their supported trips are “designed to get you out of your comfort zone and into the wild, making lifelong friendships and memories in the process.” Trips range from 7-10 days in length, depending on destination. While we know most of our readers would prefer to plan their own trips and some pride in self-sufficiency, we’re glad to see trips like this being offered for folks with the disposable income to spend on what will surely be memorable experiences in stunning destinations.
