Previously only offered in carbon, Curve Cycling just released an aluminum version of their adventure-ready Dirt Hoops. They’ve available in both 27.5″ and 29″ sizes and with or without a dynamo front hub. Find all the details here…

Modeled after the carbon Dirt Hoops, which are Curve’s strongest carbon off-road wheels, the new Dirt Hoops Alloy take all the best features and roll them into a more affordable package. They’re designed to be versatile wheels, perfect for day rides on local singletrack or massive bikepacking trips in far off places. They feature a 30mm internal width, which can be set up with tires from 2.2″ to 3.0″ wide, and they ship with tubeless tape and valves.

The Curve Dirt Hoops Alloy are offered in both 27.5″ and 29″ diameters, built up around DT Swiss 350 hubs for their performance, durability, and serviceability. Looking to charge some gadgets or power a light while you’re riding? Curve also offers an optional dynamo front hub build, featuring the popular SP Dynamo PD-8X hub. Both options are based around boost hub spacing, including a 15mm front axle and 12mm rear.

Digging into the specs (below), it’s worth noting that didn’t carry over the straight-pull spokes from the original Dirt Hoops, which was a selling point. So, we think the pricing seems a bit high, but it’s nice to see another relatively lightweight out of the box wheel option with aptly specced rims and Dynamo hub.
