In addition to the new DT 350 DEG, DT Swiss also introduced a fresh lineup of carbon rims using their new patented “Pure Carbon” technology at the 2025 Sea Otter Classic. Learn more about the tech and the three rims here…

2025 Sea Otter Classic

Along with their new colorful 350 DEG hubs, DT Swiss was also showing off some new carbon rims that look promising. According to DT Swiss, their Pure Carbon Rims represent a major innovation in rim construction, introducing a patent-pending manufacturing process that maximizes carbon layer compression for a lightweight yet exceptionally durable build. Unlike traditional methods that join multiple rim parts, the Pure Carbon technique forms each rim from the outside in using a single mold, allowing for continuous carbon fibers in high-impact areas and reducing resin and air inclusions. This results in structurally uniform, impact-resistant rims with minimal imperfections, according to DT Swiss. Their new quality control process is also interesting. Each rim undergoes a layer-by-layer, non-destructive quality scan to ensure it’s 100% fault-free and ready to ride.

The out-of-the-mold finish eliminates the need for extra surface treatments, cutting weight and giving the rims a sleek, high-quality appearance straight from production. The rims also feature asymmetrical profiles to balance spoke tension for stronger wheel builds and adapted spoke hole counts depending on the intended use.

DT Swiss Pure Carbon Rim Variants

There are three variants. The XRC 310 is DT’s lightest carbon rim to date and clearly made for XC and racing. With a 30mm internal width and a 373-gram weight, it’s designed to strike a balance between strength and speed. Built for disc brake setups, it features a 28-hole, eyelet-free design and is rated for a maximum system weight of 110 kilograms under ASTM category 3 use. It comes tubeless-ready with tape, valve, and a DT Pro Lock Hex aluminum nipple kit, plus vinyl decals in red, gold, or black. Pricing starts at 599 USD/EUR/CHF.

With an ASTM 5 rating and a 130-kilogram max system weight, it’s clearly built to handle demanding terrain or heavier weight. The EXC 330 comes tubeless-ready with included tape, valve, DT Pro Lock Hex aluminum nipple kit, and a set of vinyl decals in red, gold, or black. Prices start at 599 USD/EUR/CHF.

Warranty

Of course, the value of a premium carbon rim largely hinges on the warranty backing it, and at this price point, that’s pretty important. DT Swiss includes a lifetime warranty with these rims for original owners. That covers material and workmanship defects. Additionally, their fair-share crash replacement policy offers extra peace of mind. If you accidentally damage your wheel—say, by dropping your bike off a moving car—DT Swiss will replace the rim for less than half the retail price, at $179 USD, which seems like a generous gesture.
