As the tariffs put pressure on all facets of the bike industry over the last few months, Esker Cycles held the line—until now. Starting September 1, a 10% tariff surcharge will apply to all new orders. For riders eyeballing a new Esker, August is the last chance to lock in current pricing. Find details here…

In full transparency last week, Esker Cycles announced details on how new U.S. tariffs will impact their pricing. Following months of uncertainty, the official August 1 ruling confirmed a significant increase. As a result, tariffs on the goods Esker imports have risen from 0% to 10% and now to 20%. Unlike some industry peers who implemented surcharges early, Esker waited for final numbers before making adjustments. With the new rates in place, their hand was forced to introduce a 10% tariff surcharge on all new orders starting September 1, 2025. Customers can still purchase bikes—either through Esker’s website or retail partners—at current pricing until the end of August. Existing orders, including titanium or steel pre-orders, will not be affected.

Esker builds and assembles all of its bikes using imported frames in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a local-first approach that helps minimize some additional duties faced by brands relying on overseas assembly. While the impact on component pricing remains uncertain, the company aims to absorb costs where possible. And although the increase may go against Esker’s mission to offer high-quality metal bikes at affordable prices, it’s always refreshing to see a brand’s commitment to transparency and adherence their standards. You can find their full statement on the matter here.
