After a nearly two-year hiatus, Esker Cycles is back in the full-suspension game with two new mountain bikes available in aluminum and titanium. Learn all about the new Esker Cycles Howdy and Woodsy here…
Following the release of a wholly revamped hardtail mountain bike lineup on Monday, Esker is back with two fresh full-suspension bikes. Unlike their previous mountain bikes, which were built around carbon frames, Esker turned its focus to aluminum and titanium for their latest full-suspension models. As Esker puts it, they went “back to basics with a straight-forward metal bike, balanced geometry, simple mechanics, at a good value. No gimmicks, no fluff, no nonsense.” Learn all about the new Esker Howdy and Woodsy below.
Esker Howdy
The Esker Howdy is named after the “Good Outdoor Manners Raccoon” from the mid-20th-century US Forest Service campaign. The Howdy is designed around 125mm of rear travel utilizing Dave Weagle’s Orion Dynamics Suspension Design, a slack 64.8° head tube angle, and a steep 77° seat tube angle. It’s available with an aluminum or titanium frame. The aluminum models feature a 6061-T6 Alloy front and rear triangle, and the Ti model has a seamless, butted and cold-shaped 3/2.5 titanium front triangle with a 6061-T6 Alloy rear triangle.

The Howdy has external cable routing, a 73mm threaded bottom bracket, boost hub spacing, and clearance for 29 x 2.6″ tires. It uses a SRAM UDH rear dropout and is available in four sizes. The alloy Howdy is available in Raw, Unicorn, and Salmon. Dig into the unsagged geometry chart below.

The alloy Esker Howdy frame is priced at $2,000, and complete builds start at $4,000 USD. The Howdy Ti has the same geometry and suspension tune as its alloy counterpart, and frames cost $3,500. Complete builds start at $5,500. Find details on the alloy Howdy here and the Ti Howdy here.
Esker Woodsy
The Woodsy is the bigger, longer-travel sibling to the Howdy. It’s also named after a mascot of the United States Forest Service, the Woodsy Owl, originally created in 1970 as part of a campaign to raise awareness for environmental protection. It’s designed around 145mm of rear travel, similar angles, and all the same frame specs, including external cables, boost hub spacing, and 29 x 2.6″ tire clearance. It’s great see a few extra bosses on both models, including three-pack mounts under the downtube for additional water or gear. The alloy Woodsy is available in Raw, Verde, and Ranchera.
