Sneak Peaks is an unsupported bikepacking expedition that starts and finishes in Bolzano, Italy. It crosses the Italian Dolomites and the highest mountain ranges in Northern Italy. The clock does not stop, and there are no prizes. There were three routes to choose from this year: Entree (490 km), Classic (780 km), and Adventure (1,100 km). Over 90 riders are participating, split among the three routes, and the fastest riders in each category have already begun to finish.
Florent Rodot won the Sneak Peaks Adventure, finishing in 5 days and 23 hours with an average elevation gain of approximately 7,400 meters per day. He set a steady pace, sleeping roughly four hours each night to keep enough energy for the long hike-a-bike sections that led riders into terrain rarely accessible even to hikers. The French farmer rode his own hand-built titanium monster gravel bike with homemade bikepacking bags and made good use of Sneak Peaks’ unique unsupported rules, which allow riders to spend time with fellow participants.
Together with second-place finisher Roman Schraner, he kept the gap to early leader Ludwig Steiner close through the first three quarters of the route and moved ahead when Ludwig took a longer break at CP11 on day four. From there, he pressed on with minimal stops and rolled into the finish at Ahoi Minigolf, still fresh enough to squeeze in a quick round. Congrats to Florent and all the other finishers of this year’s event. You can find the current standings and track the rest of the riders still out on route via our event page.
