Two weeks ago, over 50 riders showed up for the inaugural West Texas Showdown event in the Big Bend region. As promised, the challenging terrain, heat, and remoteness made for a difficult ride, with fewer than half of the starters completing the route. The second event in the Texas Showdown Series brought in over 100 riders to the middle of the state for the third annual Central Texas Showdown. Alex Schultz took first place at the 2025 Arizona Trail Race over the weekend, knocking out the AZT800 route in 9 days, 10 hours, and 29 minutes. Last month, Adrien Liechti of Switzerland travelled to the United States to take on the Salida to the Sea race. The 2,000-mile route traverses five states from Salida, Colorado, to Port Orford, Oregon, and Adrien finished it in just 12 days and 3 hours, setting a new fastest known time.
