The Bikepacking Journal 08

Spring 2022

In case you missed it, take a peek inside the eighth issue of The Bikepacking Journal here, which we published this spring. Plus, find details on how to become a member of our Bikepacking Collective and get a printed collection of stories and photos delivered to your door twice a year, anywhere in the world…

In The Bikepacking Journal 08, we present what we hope you’ll find to be a refreshing mix of engaging travel stories and meditative essays. We take you on two-wheeled journeys to intriguing new destinations and provide an opportunity to pause and reexamine your everyday routes. We invite several contributors to return and pick up where earlier trips and ideas left off and also feature a handful of first-timers whose perspectives we’ve long been eager to share. With work presented in various formats and mediums, we like to think this issue’s pages will keep you guessing as you flip from one story to the next.

On behalf of everyone who helped shape this release, thank you for being a part of our Bikepacking Collective and enabling this passion project to flourish through your membership. Shepherding The Bikepacking Journal through its transformation from pixels to paper and knowing it’s being cracked open and read by folks the world over is exciting and rewarding beyond measure. We’re grateful for all of you who continue to support us.

As a thank you to our members, we also included a sticker sheet featuring four durable vinyl stickers on a 4 x 4.9″ (10.2 x 12.4cm) sheet. The art included our new Bikepacking Collective logo, the new Ride Camp Respect/Leave No Trace lockup, and a couple of other fun stickers for folks to put on their bikes (see more here). If you’re not yet a member of the Bikepacking Collective, get signed up today and you’ll never miss another issue of The Bikepacking Journal.
