On the heels of the new Escapade 6, Cotic introduced the Jeht Gen3, designed to bring the confident, planted handling of their Rocket into a lighter, fully human-powered trail bike. It adopts the Rocket’s suspension layout, paired with a refined pedaling kinematic, to balance traction-rich climbing with a supportive, progressive feel on descents. The redesign also improves real-world usability, opening up the front triangle for large bottle and gear storage, while combining 150mm travel, a mullet wheel setup, and UK-made steel construction into a versatile trail platform. What’s on the Moon(lander)?

  • surly moonlander 2026 sea otter classic
  • Moonlander Light

Miles and Neil wrapped up their coverage of the 2026 Sea Otter Classic this week with five roundups and seven videos detailing all of the notable tech at the show. Among all the new gadgets and gizmos was a much-loved classic. Ian’s Surly Moonlander was one of the stars of this year’s expo due to its obvious “beausage” and, of course, Ian’s lovable demeanor. A wired gizmo attached to the front wheel caught some folks’ attention, who wondered what it could possibly be. Ian eventually let us know that it’s a spoke light from a now defunct company called Monkeylectric. Just another fun detail on one of the best bikes at the show.

Nic Morales: Qualla Quest

Qualla Quest Bikepacking Overnighter

Things are getting great here in western North Carolina, and I couldn’t think of a better place to be. The green is almost fully in and the temperatures are well within an acceptable range, although we’re in the middle of a pretty bad drought; spring is in full swing in lower Appalachia. Qualla Quest seems like a perfect way to spend the weekend, and I may just get out for some or all of the route in the near future.
