Launched earlier this year, Friend&Fiend is a small, handmade bag brand from industrial designer Bailey Van Etten. His initial launch featured a pair of On-Tube Storage bags designed to attach to accessory mounts, expanding carrying capacity for snacks, tubes, and other items. The Friend&Fiend On-Tube V2 is the second iteration of their debut product. Launched earlier this year, Friend&Fiend is a small business by Bailey Van Etten focused niche and out-of-the-box designs. His first product, the On-Tube, is a miniature bag that attaches to dedicated frame mounts for convenient storage on bikes with minimal triangle space. The On-Tube V2 is a slightly bigger, improved version of the same bag that comes in two sizes: a small version (110mm L x 50mm H x 55mm W) and a larger size (180mm L x 50mm H x 55mm W) with an internal stabilizing plate that can be used on frame mounts or with a strap mount.
At $55 for the small and $70 for the large, the V2 offers minor improvements over the prior iteration. V2 contains a wider opening for better accessibility and a zipper garage for clean lines and ease of use. It’s not a huge change, but it’s fun to see a young brand improve and keep its audience involved in the design process. The V2 also offers new colors and materials, and it’s available in Black, Plum, Alpenglow, and Seafoam RX30. The brand’s legacy colors, Brown and Purple with White Grid, are also available.
