Born from founder Kristin Heil’s passion for birdwatching, the new Gramm Tourpacking Optics Bag is a padded hip pack designed to keep your glass safe, whether that’s a camera and lenses or large binoculars. Get to know the latest bag from the small Berlin brand here…
Gramm Tourpacking founder Kristin Heil is among the most ardent bird lovers I know, so her release of a dedicated binocular bag feels almost inevitable. The new Gramm Tourpacking Optics Bag is designed to keep your precious optics secure and at the ready while riding, and it’ll fit a smaller camera with a couple of lenses or a large pair of binoculars. With a 3.7-liter capacity, it’s designed to be super stable around your waist and boasts several features to help with organization. It looks like a worthy option for folks who take their pedal-powered photography or birding seriously.

At the core of the Optics Bag is a foam-padded, zippered compartment with a soft lining and two removable dividers to help users tailor it to their needs. Flat front and rear pockets provide a safe place to stow smaller items like SD cards, batteries, lens wipes, and snacks. Small wings and an adjustable waist belt provide a snug fit, and the bag can also be worn over your shoulder thanks to the included side clips and strap.
Sewn in Portugal, the new Gramm Optics Bag measures 250 x 150 x 100mm (9.8 x 5.9 x 3.9″), weighs around 325 grams, and is available now in X-Pac X51 Marigold, Ultra X 800 Black Magic, BX15 iT Black, and XD05 Cloud Grey. It costs €169 ($176), including EU VAT, so buyers outside the European Union can expect to pay around $150 before shipping.
