The Rails-to-Trails Conservancy just published an update on the Great American Rail-Trail, which will stretch more than 3,700 miles from coast to coast across the United States. Check it out here…

In 2019, the Rail-to-Trails Conservancy (RTC) unveiled the planned route, completion statistics, and more for The Great American Rail-Trail, which will span the United States from Washington, D.C., to Washington State. The route will traverse 12 states and the District of Columbia over 3,700 miles (5,954 km). Trail criteria were developed to ensure the Great American Rail-Trail would provide safe, non-motorized travel on a route that is entirely bikeable.

The RTC just released some updated statistics on the project, which include over $34,000,000 funds raised, 120 miles of new trail in development, 60 miles of new trail added since 2019, and 8 of the 12 states along the route have introduced new trail segments since the route was initially developed.
