Rockgeist owner Greg Hardy is lining up at the 2026 Trans North Georgia Adventure tomorrow morning, where he’ll test a few prototype Rockgeist bags before making them available to the public. See what he’s bringing here…

I first met Greg, owner of Rockgeist, at the 2019 Bikepacking Summit, organized by our very own Neil and Lindsay Beltchenko. The summit was hosted at Mulberry Gap, an adventure basecamp and adventure cyclists’ dream getaway just an hour and a half from Atlanta, Georgia. Mulberry Gap is also a resupply point on the annual Trans North Georgia Adventure (TNGA) route, sitting at mile 209 of 355. Owners Kate and Andrew Gates usually go all out for the riders, offering lodging and food for weary riders taking on the challenging route.

This weekend, Greg is joining 87 other riders tackling the 2026 TNGA, which kicks off tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. local time. He’s using the event as a testing ground for several new bag designs Rockgeist is working on, including some ultralight feed bags, a welded/waterproof top tube bag, and a tiny seat pack.

His tiny saddle bag is made from ALUULA fabric, has a roll-top closure, and is held in place using two Voile straps. Greg is using it to carry his hammock (sans straps) as his shelter for the ride. The Cache Top Tube Bag has been in the Rockgeist lineup for nearly 10 years as a sewn bag, but it’s finally moving over to their welded line. They are still putting the final touches on it, but the Waterproof Cache Top Tube Bag will have a flap/magnetic closure, fully waterproof welded construction, and will be available in multiple sizes.

Lastly, instead of larger feed bags, Greg is testing some interesting Soft Flask Holders designed to hold 500 mL soft flasks used in ultra-running vests. He’s integrated them neatly with the Rockgeist Spacelink, anchoring the lightweight bags in place. Greg is riding a Santa Cruz Tallboy equipped with SRAM Transmission, Vittoria Syerra 29 x 2.4″ tires, Ergon grips, and inner bar ends.
