Australia-based Curve Cycling just launched a new titanium monster-cross gravel bike, the Curve Big Kev. According to Curve, “It’s the progressive gravel bike the adventure cycling scene has been waiting for.” Big Kev builds on their GXR (aka Kevin) but allows for wider tire clearance and features updated angles that make it look to be even better suited to off-road riding. Curve says the Big Kev is comfortable and reliable and is perfect for weekend gravel rides or bigger bikepacking trips like the Tour Divide, Rhino Run, or Race to the Rock.

The Big Kev is based around their new Ride 415 carbon fork and is optimized for 29 x 2.1″ tires, with room for 2.35″ in the rear and up to a 2.4″ up front. For those looking for a speedier setup, you can size down to a 29 x 2.0″ tire as well. Big Kev’s titanium frame features a custom yoke with asymmetrical chainstays and dropouts, plus it’s the first bike in Curve’s lineup that uses a SRAM Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH).

Big Kev appears to have a large main triangle for bags and bottles. It also has three standard bottle mounts and provisions for a rear rack and fenders. The new fork has quad-pack mounts on each fork leg and has a flip-chip style adjustable dropout for rake adjustment, similar to what we saw on the Landyachtz AB-ST we reviewed earlier this year.

The Curve Big Kev is available as a frameset or one of two complete builds based around either a SRAM Force/Eagle AXS/eTap 12-speed or SRAM Rival/Eagle AXS/eTap 12-speed. Both builds come kitted out with Curve’s carbon Dirt Hoop wheels, DT Swiss hubs, Walmer Bars, and Vittoria Mezcal 29 x 2.1″ tires. There are eight size options in total, ranging from XXS to XXL. The frameset costs $4,700 AUD ($2,900 USD) and complete builds cost $9,300 or $10,900 AUD ($5,700 or $6,700 USD) depending on the level.
