Home to a quarter of Scotland’s native forest and some 25 percent of the United Kingdom’s endangered species, half of the park has been recognized as being of international importance for nature. The Cairngorms National Park also contains four of the five highest mountains in Scotland, though because there aren’t any extreme climbs or descents, a gravel bike is suitable for most of the terrain.
