Markus Stitz’s latest video captures a 165-mile bikepacking journey through Scotland’s iconic Cairngorms National Park to get to know the people who live and work in the region. You can watch the nine-minute video here…
Filmmaker Markus Stitz is back with another short video from Scotland, Home is Where the Trails Take You. In this latest release, he captures a gravel bikepacking trip through the Cairngorms to meet and share the stories of the people who call the stunning national park home.
Home to a quarter of Scotland’s native forest and some 25 percent of the United Kingdom’s endangered species, half of the park has been recognized as being of international importance for nature. The Cairngorms National Park also contains four of the five highest mountains in Scotland, though because there aren’t any extreme climbs or descents, a gravel bike is suitable for most of the terrain.
You can watch the full video above, subtitled in English and German. It showcases some of the beauty found along the 165-mile Cairngorms National Park Loop, which follows old military and drovers roads through the UK’s largest area of high ground.
