UK-based Hope Technology just launched two fresh products today. Find details about the new Hope carbon crankset and TR Stem below.
Hope Carbon EVO Crankset
Hope just furthered their commitment to carbon fiber production in the UK with the addition of a new Carbon EVO crankset. They now make carbon handlebars, a seatpost, and their HB916 bike in-house at their Barnoldswick factory. The new Carbon EVO cranks are made using a carbon layup that Hope claims tunes the cranks for a unique ride feel. Longevity and serviceability are also considered in the manufacturing by using a 1K outer carbon fiber fabric for enhanced abrasion resistance and replaceable pedal threads. Find the full set of specs and features from the Hope press release below.
- Tuned stiffness characteristics for optimum ride feel
- 1K outer fabric has greater abrasion resistance and gives the unique ‘Hope’ carbon aesthetic
- Pedal thread can be replaced if threads become damaged
- Foam core helps to absorb impacts and dampen vibrations
- T700 fibres for optimum strength to weight
- Unique carbon construction method
- Ride feel optimized lay-up and construction
- Proven self-extracting axle/arm interface from our EVO cranks
- 155, 165 & 170mm length
- 30mm oversize 7075 aluminium alloy axle

Hope TR Stem
In addition to the all-new carbon cranks, Hope also announced a new stem. The Hope TR stem matches the aesthetic of the brand’s Gravity stem but is tailored for downcountry/trail mountain biking. Hope claims the new stem is lighter and stiffer than the old AM model and introduces a new 40mm length to round out a variety of options, including a 32mm version with a 31.8mm clamp, and 35, 40, and 50mm versions in both 31.8 and 35.0mm clamp sizes. See the full set of specs and features from Hope below.
- Opposing steerer clamp bolts to give exceptionally rigid steering characteristics
- Two-piece front plate design with a simple “no gap” clamping system
- Optimum machining to give lightest weight without compromising stiffness
- 32, 40, and 50mm lengths in Ø31.8 clamp diameters
- 35, 40, and 50mm lengths in Ø35 clamp diameters
