Announced last night, the Hyperlite Splash Bivy is designed to offer essential protection for tarp campers and folks who prioritize covering long distances over spending extended time at camp. It provides basic coverage on dry nights or pairs with Hyperlite’s 8×10 Flat Tarp or Mid 1 Tarp for wet conditions. Hyperlite mentions that it’s ideal for backpackers, thru-hikers, and fastpackers, but it could also be interesting for minimal bikepackers who carry a tarp but might want bug protection on occasion. Find details below.

The Splash Bivy is designed to fit your sleep system and add a mesh barrier from insects in buggy conditions, but another standout feature is the tall bathtub Dyneema floor. When paired with a tarp, this should help keep rain from splashing in, which is where it gets its name. Scroll down for weights, dimensions, and features from Hyperlite.
