Jeronimo Cycles has released its first 32″ bike. Labeled a downcountry hardtail, the small brand’s latest frame features clearance for 32 x 2.4″ tires, aggressive geometry, and mounts for all kinds of cargo. Read on for more on this new frame…
Based in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Pedro Jeronimo has been designing frames since 2010. With plenty of experience under his belt, he’s just released the Jeronimo Cycles Lorenzo Ti, the brand’s first foray into 32″ wheels. Like their other offerings, the Lorenzo Ti is made of double-butted 3Al-2.5V titanium and has clearance for 32 x 2.4″ tires, though the 2.4″ Maxxis Aspens on the demo model look like they have tons of space on either side. The Lorenzo uses a 73mm T47 bottom bracket and boost spacing with interchangeable dropouts for various drivetrain configurations. Similar to other 32ers, this model is only available in two larger sizes, M/L and L. They can also use custom geometry for an added fee.
As for cargo capacity, the seat stays have eyelets for mounting a rear rack. Although many of their bikes are offered as both frames and frame kits that include a fork option, the Lorenzo is currently offered only as a frame. That said, the bike is optimized for forks with a 490mm to 530mm axle-to-crown measurement and a 44mm offset. With more and more rigid 32″ forks coming to market, it shouldn’t be hard to find something that is also cargo-capable for the front end.
The bike also has mounts on the top tube, fully internal cable routing that runs along the downtube and into the chainstays, and internal routing for a dropper seatpost. The Lorenzo is compatible with SRAM’s UDH Full Mount rear derailleur system and weighs 1,950 grams in the smaller M/L size.
