Craig Lambard of the 2nd Life Bikes YouTube channel has been making a series about designing and fabricating his own bike frame. In his latest video, he dives into the specifics of learning to miter and weld the frame he designed. Watch the full video of the build process below…
As an employee of Stayer Cycles, a small independent bike shop in London, Craig Lambard spends a lot of time around bike-building tools. Stayer offers a course that teaches people how to fabricate their own bikes, and Craig recently took up designing and building one for himself. In the latest video on his YouTube channel, Craig runs through the process of mitering and brazing the tubes, offering viewers a glimpse of what it’s like to build a bicycle.
As for the impetus of the bike, Craig said, “I wanted to make something I didn’t already have, but more importantly, something truly one of a kind. I took inspiration from the Crumbworks CHUNK, and the bike Chris of Good Grief built for a past edition of Bespoked Dresden, and then just let it evolve from there.”
