Handlebar bags are notorious for being tricky to install. Shifter and brake cable interference, limited space above the front tire, and peculiar handlebar shapes can all be problematic. The new Miss Grape ILCOSO—which translates to “The THING”—is a modular handlebar bag cradle that aims to solve these compatibility issues. The ILCOSO incorporates a lower handlebar bag cradle—which looks similar to the popular Salsa Anything Cradle—with the added versatility of an upper accessory mount to attach lights and GPS devices.
The ILCOSO cargo mount is made from tenacious PA6 polyamide and is designed to work with carbon or aluminum handlebars that have a 31.8mm clamping area that’s at least 83mm (3.3″) wide. The accessory bar is made from anodized aluminum tubing. The system comes with two different mounting bracket lengths and the brackets can be tilted up or down to dial in the position on your bars. The system includes two adjustable straps that live on the cradle to make removing and installing a dry bag quick and easy. Miss Grape recommends using a dry bag as wide as 19cm (7.5″) and the system is rated for 3kg (6.6lb). Watch Miss Grape’s detailed product overview video below. The Miss Grape ILCOSO is made in Italy and weighs just 320 grams (0.7lb). It is available now from MissGrape.net for €128 (~$140 USD) and comes with a lifetime warranty, two pairs of mounting clamps (both long and short), the aluminum accessory tube, two 83cm (32″) long straps, and mounting hardware. A dry bag is not included.
