The crew at Pelago Bicycles up in Helsinki, Finland, recently announced two new additions to their lineup of cargo racks: the Commuter Front Rack Aluminium, which is a lightweight version of their popular front rack, as well as the Lowrider Pannier Support, a new add-on for Pelago front racks that extends your carrying capacity, allowing you to mount a pair of small pannier bags.

PELAGO COMMUTER FRONT RACK ALUMINIUM

Potentially a good option for a basketpacking setup, the new Pelago Commuter Front Rack Aluminium is a lighter version of their stainless steel Commuter Front Rack. It’s offered in three different sizes that range in weight from 650g (23oz) to 820g (29oz) and includes a versatile attachment kit that allows it to fit to most bicycles with 26″ or 28″ wheels. The new Commuter Front Rack Aluminium is available in black or polished silver and the small, medium, and large racks are priced at €69, €79, and €89, respectively. Note that there are mounts for a pannier just below the platform.

Functioning as a more touring-friendly add-on to the Commuter Front Rack, the new Pelago Lowrider Pannier Support looks well suited for lowering your front end’s center of gravity while hauling mini panniers. Built from stainless steel and including a 30-year warranty, the Lowrider Pannier Support is designed to fit most bikes with 26″ or 28″ wheels. Like the new Commuter Front Rack, it’s offered in black or polished silver. It weighs 500g (17.6oz) and the retail price is €59.
