The new Rockgeist Pico Armadillo is a nifty pot or bottle protector when strapped into a metal cargo cage, and doubles as a strap holder to make packing and unpacking easier. Check it out here…
Five years ago, Rockgeist released the Armadillo Dry Bag Protector as a simple solution for anyone who wants to add some extra protection to their favourite lightweight dry bag. It was made from durable Hypalon rubber material, so it was flexible enough to wrap around any dry bag but durable enough to withstand the constant abrasion from dirt and gunk between the rack and bag. The new Pico Armadillo is inspired by this design, but is specifically designed for cargo cages, adding extra protection between your bottles, pots, or other items you’re hauling, and your metal cargo cage.
The Rockgeist Pico Armadillo is made from the same durable Hypalon material and is compatible with all styles of cargo cages. It has a strap slot for a single cargo strap, but can be used with two straps for taller cargo. It’s tall enough to protect 32oz/1L Nalgenes and is perfectly sized for the Vargo Titanium BOT cook pot. It’s designed to protect your gear, but also helps to eliminate the noise and rattles that sometimes come with cargo cages, thanks to a generous size and built-in foot to match the bottom of a cargo cage.
The Pico Armadillo is made at Rockgeist HQ in Asheville, North Carolina, costs $19.95, and can be ordered with one or two additional Voile straps. Grab yours at Rockgeist.com.
