This morning, Shimano released eight new trail riding shoes as part of their new Gravity Flat (GF) and Gravity Enduro (GE) series. The flat-pedal and SPD-compatible shoes are designed to excel on trails and technical riding, “delivering premium flat pedal and SPD performance for aggressive trail and downhill riding”, as Shimano puts it. Shimano GE900
The Shimano GE900 is their top-end gravity shoe, featuring a full-length EVA/carbon reinforced midsole, BOA fit system, large velcro instep strap, and neoprene ankle collar to keep debris out. The upper of the shoe is made from a synthetic leather, the ULTREAD GE Outsole is said to be grippy for hike-a-bikes but quick to clip-in when navigating technical trails, and they come in either black or olive.

Shimano GE700
The Shimano GE700 has the same ULTREAD GE Outsole as the GE900 but uses a simple lace-up closure and velcro strap, loses the ankle collar, and has a heavy-duty cushioned upper for more comfort during big hits.

Shimano GE500 & GE500W
The GE500 and GE500W shoes are the most affordable option in the Gravity Enduro lineup. They use the same midsole and outsole as the higher-end siblings but have a more casual, breathable fabric upper and a raised padded ankle collar. The GE500W is the women’s version and is offered in two color options in sizes 36-44.

Shimano GF600

They are offered in both men’s and women’s sizing and a larger size range than the other shoes.
