It’s a big day for the team at Old Man Mountain in Oregon, who are launching three exciting new products. Get to know the new Hemlock Fork Packs, quick-release FLiP cages, and the Atlas Rack Pack here…

After a few years of teasing and testing, we’re excited to finally see some fresh gear from Old Man Mountain. They’ve had working prototypes for some time now, and a few items have popped up in recent trade shows, but Old Man Mountain explained that they really wanted to put these items through the wringer before offering them to their customers. Today, they’re introducing three products into their growing lineup of bikepacking gear: a new fork bag, a quick-release cargo cage, and a rack bag. Find details on all of them below.

Old Man Mountain FLiP Cage

The FLiP cage is Old Man Mountain’s first cargo cage. The FLiP cage, which stands for Fast Lock in Place, is an injection-molded nylon cargo cage that can be configured as a standard cargo carrier by using the optional cargo foot, or it can be paired with a bag that uses Old Man Mountains FLiP attachment system for a fast, secure, and rattle-free attachment.

Two pucks on the backside of compatible bags, which includes the new Hemlock Fork Packs, are designed to mate up with the cage. The bottom hooks into the cage, and the top hooks and swivels 90 degrees to lock into place, ensuring a secure connection. They are also offering the FLiP cages and hardware available as an OEM product to any interested bag makers looking to integrate the system into their bags. Bag makers can learn more here.

Old Man Mountain Hemlock Fork Packs

Designed in conjunction with the FLiP cage, the Hemlock Fork Pack is a waterproof, seven-liter cargo bag that integrates neatly with the quick-release FLiP system. Hemlock bags and FLiP cages are rated to 9.9 pounds (4.5 kilograms) per side. The bottom half of the bags are made from durable and abrasion resistant Hypalon, and the tops are made from a lightweight ripstop for better compression while also reducing weight. Hemlock with FLiP Cages will be available as a pair of two bags, two FLiP cages, and two cargo feet for $175 USD.

Old Man Mountain Atlas Rack Pack

To complement the new Hemlock Fork Packs, the Atlas Rack Pack is designed to mount to the top of any rear rack. It’s a nine-liter waterproof bag with welded seams, integrated attachment straps on both sides, and a roll-top closure that can be accessed while on the go. On top, bungee lacing provides an easy stashing spot for extra layers or camp shoes. It’s made from the same Hypalon/ripstop nylon fabric combination, and it tapers toward the seatpost end to provide more clearance for dropper posts.
