Available exclusively at the MADE handmade bike show this weekend, Old Man Mountain turned to their local landscape for inspiration on a new limited edition series of Axle Packs, Baskets, and Astral Outback wheelsets. Learn more here…
Central Oregon is home to the Painted Hills, a stunning geologic feature made of mineral-rich soils compacted into layers upon layers of striated color. For Old Man Mountain’s latest series, they took those colors and created a limited edition collection of Axle Packs, Baskets, and Astral Outback wheelsets. Parts are limited to just 12 sets of Axle Pack, 12 Baskets, and 10 wheelsets. There are a few Baskets and Axle Packs available online here, and the rest are available in person at MADE this weekend.
Old Man Mountain Axle Pack is unlike any fork mount adapter. Rather than trying to clamp to round or tapered surfaces and hoping it doesn’t slip or spin, Axle Pack mounts directly to your thru-axle. Attaching to the axle makes it impossible to slip or spin and easy to add three-pack mounts to any fork. Make sure to check out Neil’s review here.
The Old Man Mountain Basket bolts directly to racks for a stable and rattle-free ride. The basket pattern is Molle compatible so you can attach your favorite accessory pouches, and it’s compatible with all Wald 137 basket bags.
The wheelsets from Astral are Outback 700c rims made in Eugene, Oregon, from start to finish and laced to White Industries CLD hubs. They are designed for long-distance travel on dirt, and the 25mm internal width is perfect for tires from 32mm to 2.2″ wide.
MADE will open to the public at 12 noon on Friday, August 23rd, through Sunday, August 25th, 2024, with evening events spotlighting local cycling brands and culture. Learn more here.
