New Single Speed Options from Otso Cycles

After receiving a number of customer requests for it, the team at Wolf Tooth Components / Otso Cycles just announced a new single speed conversion kit for their Tuning Chip dropouts, allowing you to convert any of Otso’s geared steel and titanium bikes (the Warakin Stainless, Warakin Ti, and Waheela S) to run a single gear. Note that this new kit isn’t compatible with any of their carbon frames.

The new Single Speed Conversion Kit for Tuning Chip Dropout works by replacing the existing Tuning Chip, a unique dropout adjustment system found on all of their bikes that allows you to set the wheelbase into one of three positions for as much as 20mm of length and 4mm of bottom bracket height adjustment. According to Otso, making the swap can be done in any home workshop and requires just four tools.

There are two kits available for existing Otso owners: one for flat mount brakes and another for post mount brakes. Both kits include all the necessary parts and hardware and retail for $94.95. They’ve also added single speed drivetrain options into their Custom Bike Configurator for both Warakin models for any new customers who want to run a single speed from day one.
