Seven years in the making, the new Otso Voytek 2 has been updated with fresh geometry, more cargo mounts, and Otso’s new GeoChip system that allows for reach and head tube angle adjustments. We had a chance to get a sneak peek and shoot some photos at MADE last month. Find photos, specs, and everything else you need to know here…
The Otso Voytek was first released in 2016, positioned as a versatile hybrid between a dedicated fatbike and go-anywhere 29+ mountain bike. From the beginning, it set itself apart from other fatbikes thanks to its narrow Q-factor and XC-inspired geometry and the fact that it’s equally suited to run massive 26 x 4.6″ tires in the winter or 27.5+ or 29+ mountain bike wheels in the summer. The Otso Voytek 2 takes this mantra around adjustability and versatility to the next level.
The latest update had been seven years in the making and is the first significant revision to the platform. The Otso Voytek 2 maintains all the features that we liked on the original but makes major shifts to the geometry and frame. Plus, it includes an interesting new adjustable headset that allows for further tweaks to the front of the bike. Like it’s predecessor, the Voytek 2 features a carbon frame and fork, a suspension-corrected geometry for compatibility with a 120mm-travel fork, your choice of 26″, 27.5″, or 29″ wheels, and provisions that make it a great bikepacking rig.
Compared to the previous version, the Voytek 2 has a 1° slacker head tube angle and 1° steeper seat tube angle. It also gets a larger front triangle, improved tire clearance (26 x 4.6″, 27.5 x 4.5″, and 29 x 3.0″), 10mm longer reach, shorter standover height, top tube mounts, more bolt-on frame bag bosses, proper rear rack mounts at the dropout, internal routing for rear brake line and derailleur cable, a new headset size, and a new paint layout with three colorways.
Otso GeoChip Adjustable Headset
Perhaps the most interesting new feature is the GeoChip. This new integrated system allows you to adjust the bike’s reach and head tube angle using a set of flip chips that nest in the frame and hold the headset upper and lower cups. One set of GeoChip flip chips allows for +/- 10mm of reach adjustment, another allows for +/- 1° of head tube angle adjustment, and the third allows for +/- 2° of head tube angle adjustment. Only one set of GeoChip flip chips are used at a time. According to Otso, it takes just under five minutes to swap them out, which is less time than it takes to swap your stem. This means that you can easily adjust your reach or head tube angle at home based on the riding ahead. See the GeoChip in action below:
When pairing the GeoChip with the Tuning Chip rear dropout system, Voytek 2 geometry can be tweaked considerably. The Tuning Chip rear dropout system allows you to adjust the wheelbase by up to 20mm, bottom bracket height by up to 4mm, and head tube angle by +/- 0.5°. When we asked Otso if the GeoChip will be available beyond the Voytek, they said it will be available as separate parts, but it requires the frame to be designed for it. Currently, the Voytek is the only bike compatible with the system.

There are options for different drivetrains, wheel size, dropper post, suspension or rigid fork, anodized headset and seatpost clamp color, grips, tires, stem length, and more.
