We’re certainly in the Renaissance of drop handlebars. From the ultra-wide, to the ultra-swept, they’re coming in all shapes and sizes. The latest is the Oyster Bar handlebar, which just launched on Kickstarter and combines flat bars with drops. Is this too much??
Last week it was the Surly Truck Stop Bar, and the week before that it was the RideFarr Aero Gravel bar. Now there’s the Oyster Bar handlebar, “A Bicycle Handlebar for Long Rides.” This new steering apparatus claims to be ready for gravel/bikepacking/whatever and blends flat bars with drops for even more hand positions. There’s no doubt that we’re in massive state of influx with new drop handlebars. But are they going to far?
