Quebec-based Panorama Cycles just released an updated version of their carbon gravel bike, the Katahdin. The Katahdin 2.1 features increased tire clearance, UDH dropouts, new build options, and a fresh “dark eggplant” colorway. Learn more here…
The Katahdin is what Panorama Cycles describes as a “robust, adaptable, and functional gravel bike.” It’s built up around a lightweight carbon frame, plenty of mounting points for cages and cargo, and a comfortable riding position that should work equally well for long day rides and loaded bikepacking. Panorama released the second iteration in 2021, which included more tire clearance, an additional bottle mount, and some frame tweaks, and we’re happy to see a newer version that continues to build on the Katahdin platform.

The Panorama Katahdin 2.1 is still designed around a carbon frame and fork that are tested to mountain bike ISO standards. Mounting points include top tube bosses, seven mounts inside the main triangle, downtube bosses, rack and fender mounts, and the Katahdin carbon fork has three-pack mounts for additional carrying capacity. Panorama has updated the rear dropout to the SRAM UDH standard for T-Type drivetrain compatibility, and the tire clearance has been increased from 700 x 48mm to 700 x 50mm in the rear and 57mm up front.
The geometry remains the same, aside from an increase in chainstay length to 432mm across the size range. It’s offered in three sizes, all with a 70° head tube angle, 74° seat tube angle, and 75mm bottom bracket drop. According to Panorama, “The Katahdin is not a bike that puts the rider in an ultra-aggressive or stretched-out position. It features a frame with a relatively tall stack and a long wheelbase, designed to provide a comfortable riding position and enhanced stability for long hours in the saddle.”

The Katahdin 2.1 is also being offered with new build options outside of the stock complete builds, including Canada-made We Are One wheels, a Cane Creek Invert suspension fork, and Redshift products. There are three build kits available, starting with the CUES in 1×11, GRX in 1x or 2x, and a Rival/GX AXS T-Type mullet setup.
A new “dark eggplant” paint job completes the launch, which might just be Panorama’s best colorway yet. The base price for the complete bike is $3,899 CAD, and the frameset costs $2,399. Pre-orders deliveries are planned for the end of June.
