The new Pearl Izumi Expedition shoes are an SPD cycling shoe described as being “equally at home on gravel roads or cross-country trails.” They feature a perforated synthetic leather upper, a single BOA closure, a midfoot velcro strap, and an EVA insert in the heel for vibration dampening.

The Expedition shoe uses a nylon composite sole that is said to offer great pedaling performance without sacrificing walkability. The shoe also has reinforced toe bumpers and chunky TPU lugs on the sole for off-bike grip. They’re available in men’s and women’s specific-sizing; the men’s version is offered in two colors: Phantom (black) and Sunfire/Urban Sage. The women’s comes in an Urban Sage/Pale Pine color.
