Unveiled at Eurobike this week, the new Pelago Thórsmörk is an adventure-ready hardtail mountain bike that marks an unexpected step for the Helsinki, Finland-based brand. Find initial details and a handful of photos here…

In a surprising announcement from our friends at Pelago Bicycles (@pelagobicycles) up in Helsinki, they just shared the news that they’ll be offering a mountain bike from mid-2023—the first of its kind in their lineup. The new Pelago Thórsmörk, which they’re calling a “jack of all trails,” is built around a fully rigid Chromoly steel frame with modern trail bike geometry. It’ll clear up to a 29 x 2.6″ or 27.5 x 3.0″ tire, sports a good variety of frame and fork mounts, is dropper compatible, and has a 44mm headtube, opening it up for a variety of forks.

Taking its name from an iconic Icelandic mountain ridge named after the Norse god, Thor, Pelago claims the Thórsmör was designed to take you to the “back of beyond” on multi-day bikepacking adventures and fast and light trail rides alike. We don’t yet have details on sizing, but we know that it’ll be offered in the single colorway pictured here and will be introduced at a price of €1,295 ($1,350).
