Pennsylvania-based Rambler Bags just added some fresh roll-top handlebar / saddle bags to their growing line of US-made bikepacking gear, featuring two size options, lots of thoughtful details, and each one is made-to-order. Check them out here…
Kuba, the owner and operator of Rambler Bags (@rambler.bags), first teased their new roll-top bag design during a bikepacking trip to Vermont last year. After working out a few kinks, the new Rambler Roll-Top Saddle/Handlebar Bags have been finalized and are available to purchase.
The new bag comes in two sizes and styles that share a similar design. They use a simple roll-top closure with locking G-hook buckles, there are sections of daisy chain webbing along the front for lashing on extra gear or small blinky lights, and they use a horizontal oak dowel to reinforce the attachment points for a stable setup on your handlebar or saddle.
The large version has two expandable side pockets, and the smaller version has a simple shock cord sides for lashing items to or for drying out gear. Both bags are fully lined with high-vis packcloth, available in your choice of duck (waxed or unwaxed) or Challange Ecopak with three classic webbing and binding options to choose from. Rambler includes six foam spacers, two Voile Nano Straps, a 6″ section of velcro for attaching to your headtube or seat tube, and they also offer an optional shoulder strap.

While the materials and construction result in a bag that is highly water resistant, Rambler doesn’t claim their bags are waterproof. For bags made of Duck Canvas, Rambler offers their own plant-based, biodegradeable waterproofing wax ($13) that can be applied to the entire bag. Rambler can also wax the bag for a charge if you’re not comfortable doing it yourself.
Each is made to order in a one-human shop in northeast Pennsylvania. Learn more at RamblerBags.com.
