Radical Adventure Riders (RAR) is adding up to 20 new chapters across the United States to support and build a more inclusive cycling and outdoor community for femme, trans women, and non-binary folks (FTWN-B). Learn more and find a link to apply to start a chapter in your area here…
Founded in 2017, Radical Adventure Riders is a movement toward gender inclusivity and racial equity in cycling and the outdoors. They launched their Chapter Program in 2021 to help “create a joyful and supportive bike community for femmes, trans, women, and non-binary folks while centering those who are Black, Indigenous, and people of color” at the local level in a handful of locations across the US. They’re now seeking to expand that work to include up to 20 chapters nationwide.
Selected chapters will receive funding, training, and support to carry out RAR’s mission, and the group is currently trying to raise $40,000 to make that possible. You can make a donation here. If you’re interested in forming a local chapter to host events, rides, and workshops while building a community for FTWN-B cyclists, you’re encouraged to apply by Monday, May 1st. RAR will host a webinar this Friday, April 7th, and those interested can attend to learn more. Chapters will be selected and announced in June.
You can find additional details, register for the webinar, and apply to host a chapter at RadicalAdventureRiders.com.
