Luke Cardew, co-founder of Jack the Rack, spent the last three years developing a new bikepacking bag that will be launching on Kickstarter next month. Learn about the Rekki Works DX35 development story in Luke’s latest video here…
It’s hard to believe that Jack the Rack, one of the most universally compatible handlebar-mounted racks out there, was released on Kickstarter over four years ago. Its simple yet functional design caught on quickly, and it makes a great platform for supporting larger handlebar bags, baskets, gear, or simply lashing a backpack to.
Not long after Jack hit the market, co-founder Luke Cardew began working on a new project: the Rekki Works DX35. After three years and hundreds of prototypes, it’s nearly ready to launch via Kickstarter. Luke put together a behind-the-scenes look at the development story, which you can watch below:
What sets the DX35 apart from other handlebar bags is its removable Gear Lid, inspired by removable top lids found on backpacking bags. Not only does it provide an easy-access zippered storage area and top bungee, but it can be removed when needed. In total, the DX35 can carry up to 35 liters, includes a waterproof liner and cover, and has four handlebar attachment points to accommodate various bikes sizes and setups.
We’ll be sure to share the Kickstarter campaign when it goes live. Until then, you can learn more at RekkiWorks.com.
