Specifically formulated for supple tires, the 100% biodegradable new Rene Herse Supple Sealant is made from minimal ingredients, including suspended walnut shells. It’s designed to seal punctures effectively, reduce valve and injector clogging, and be gentler on the environment. Learn more here…
Building on more than a decade of tubeless experience, Jan Heine and company at Rene Herse Cycles just introduced a new tubeless sealant that’s uniquely formulated to work with supple tires. Made from just water, ground walnut shells, natural latex, and some additives to keep the ingredients in suspension, it’s entirely biodegradable and low in allergens. According to Heine, the Rene Herse Supple Sealant is unlike previous sealants with solids in that the walnut particles are so small that the sealant won’t clog valve stems during injection. Additionally, it’s gentle on users and poses no meaningful environmental harm if spilled on the trailside.
The new Supple Sealant is available in 500 ml (17 oz) or 1,000 ml (34 oz) bottles, both of which are recyclable. Both sizes are in stock now and are priced at $25 and $39.50, respectively. A 500 ml bottle is typically enough for around four to six tubeless installations. Note that the Rene Herse sealant isn’t the first to use natural latex and walnut shells as the base. In fact, Panaracer’s Seal Smart sealant, which is also sold by Rene Herse Cycles, has the same properties and ingredients, but Heine told us that the key difference is in the added filtering.
