After months of teasing, the Rodeo Labs Spork 4.0 has finally hit their site. Although it’s been rolling out on complete builds and through partner shops for a while, it’s now available as a standalone option. The new adventure-focused fork has a host of new features that make it one of the most interesting and complete carbon gravel offerings on the market. Read on for details…
The Rodeo Labs Spork 4.0 has clearance for 29 x 2.4″ tires and features full internal dynamo routing, a D-shaped steerer with integrated headset cable routing, and compatibility with 160 and 180mm disc rotors. If the customer chooses, they can opt to have magnetic clips that attach to both their light and hub, utilizing the fork’s internal dynamo routing without actually having to route it themselves. It’s a new feature that Rodeo Labs expands on in their post, saying “Instead of permanent connections or tedious plug installations, our magnetic connector option allows effortless connection and removal of your dynamo accessory.”
The Spork 4.0 is rated for a 270 pound rider with 27.5 pounds of extra cargo on its two sets of three on the fork blades. It also uses an integrated crown race, so users don’t have to install one.
Each spork is sold with a 50mm offset and a 405mm axle-to-crown measurement—just 1cm taller than the previous iteration of the Spork 3.0. The dropout spacing is 100mm non-boost and can work seamlessly with SON’s SL self-connecting dynamo system. Although it has a fork crown mounting point, it appears it’s only intended for something small, like a light, not a rack.
