After launching the Bike Camp Co-Op as part of our new Basecamp platform, the Bike Camp Co-op quickly gained steam, and in just two weeks, our members listed over 30 bikes! Here we spotlight a few that caught our eye with a handpicked selection of complete bikes and frames for sale right now…
One of the core functions of our freshly launched Bikepacking Collective Basecamp is the Bike Camp Co-op, a place for members to buy, sell, and trade their gear in a transparent, simple, and trustworthy marketplace. Aside from safe transactions, a curated marketplace of high-quality goods that doesn’t add to the endless waste associated with new products is something we’re excited about fostering here at the site. After all, we want to steward a cleaner, more environmentally friendly world. Creating a place for our supporters to engage in “recycling” their gear is just one of many member benefits.
Though the bike industry has seen better days, the best deals are typically still those found on the secondhand market. With a number of quality completes hitting the Co-op in recent weeks, we thought it’d be good to spotlight some of the best deals on the site. In the last week alone, a whopping 30 complete bikes and frames have been listed for sale, not to mention nearly 200+ bags, accessories, camping gear, apparel, and more. Without further delay, here’s a handpicked selection of some of our favorite bikes/frames currently for sale on the Co-op this week, many of which come from folks who’ve been part of our member community for several years:
V1 Salsa Cutthroat

Kicking off the list is a 2016 Salsa Cutthroat. Categorically one of the most iconic bikes to feature on the site, you can find full, in-depth reviews of the version that is on sale here. Though slightly dated, Logan’s look at the Cutthroat during a tour across Cuba is insightful, well-documented, and fun! For $2,300, you too can have a race-ready, do-it-all v1 Cutthroat complete with a custom frame bag from Rogue Panda and CampAndGoSlow’s brown trout bar tape.
Kona Honzo ESD

Coming in hot is this respectably specced Kona Honzo. Featuring a Shimano SLX rear derailleur, RaceFace Cranks, and a Marzocchi Bomber Z1 fork, this is pretty phenomenal value at 1,800 bucks. Shipping from Durham, North Carolina, this complete hardtail is not long for the Co-op. If you’re looking for a great mid-level bike, this is your ticket to ride.
Diamondback Haanjo

Summer Hanson is a talented and kind mechanic out of Seattle working at a coffee/bike shop that refurbishes used bikes, bringing them back to their former glory. Though we’ve previously featured one of Summer’s builds, this is a newer offering from the shop. A 2019 Diamondback Haanjo that was used as a display model, it’s a solid carbon gravel bike with some reliable parts from HED, Shimano, and Praxis. For those looking for something to go fast and far with, this could be the perfect gravel-oriented option.
Two Fairlight Faran 2.0s

Finding a secondhand Fairlight is a true rarity in today’s bike market. Like a few other truly exceptional production brands, these bikes are hard to come by. People love them so much, they either hold on to them as trophies or ride them into the ground. It’s a testament to their quality that you rarely ever see a secondhand Fairlight. So, with that in mind, I’m delighted to share that not one but two Fairlight Faran 2.0s: one Regular and one Tall are for sale on the Basecamp Co-op. One is from our founding editor Logan, and the other is from member Pavel G. Logan’s kit is slightly upscale, with carbon wheels and Campy Ekar, but Pavel’s is a downright bargain at $2,500 USD. You really can’t go wrong with either bike.
Tumbleweed Stargazer Ti XL

Rounding out our selection of completes is a banger of a deal on a terrific titanium offering from Tumbleweed. Logan spoke to the bike’s credit here, but pretty much any offering from Tumbleweed is a safe bet. In addition to that, the bike isn’t priced much higher than what the frame and fork went for at launch, and with this being a complete version (including a Rockgeist framebag) of a bike that was only made in limited quantities, this is something to jump on if you can manage to swing a leg over the XL.
Honorable Mentions

There are also some honorable mentions worth highlighting, including a 52cm Hunter Cycles cross bike, a Why Cycles Wayward frame, and a Chumba Sendero to have a gander at!
Though we’ll cap today’s finds there, roughly 30 used bikes and frames are currently seeking new owners on the Bikepacking Collective Basecamp Co-op, along with a number of other great components, bags, and accessories. For more on how to get involved, click here.
