The new SimWorks by Velocity Standalone 001 aluminum rims are available in four colors and three sizes with machined or non-machined sidewalls, opening up tons of possibilities for wheel builds to carry riders across continents. Find more details and photos here…

SimWorks just announced its first rim, the Standalone 001, which was developed in collaboration with Velocity. Made from the same aluminum extrusion as Velocity’s classic workhorse Cliffhanger, SimWorks has pushed the tubeless compatible rim even further into bikepacking territory by using an aluminum eyelet for added durability. As SimWorks describes their new rims, “Regardless of the vintage and spec of the bike you might choose to incorporate the Standalone, you can rest assured that you’ll have a capable travel companion on your farthest flung adventures, be they across town or across the continent.”

The Standalone is offered in two unique anodized colors, olive and gray, in addition to classic black and silver options. All colors are available with machined or non-machined sidewalls and in 700C, 650B, and 26″ sizes. The rims have a 25mm internal width and 30mm outer width, 21.6mm height, and 32 spoke holes with a Presta valve fitting. SimWorks says they work best with 45mm to 65mm tires, and they weigh in at 640g, 605g, and 580g for 700C, 650B, and 26″ sizes, respectively.
