After receiving countless customer requests for a steel version of their popular titanium Broken Road hardtail, the team at Sonder Bikes in the UK just unveiled the all-new Sonder Broken Road Steel. Designed for big days in the mountains and fully loaded bikepacking journeys beyond the beaten path, Sonder calls the Broken Road ST the ultimate adventure mountain bike, and it’s now available at an even more approachable price point.
The Sonder Broken Road Steel sports a 4130 chromoly steel frame, 100mm of front suspension, adjustable sliding dropouts, tons of mounts, and modern trail geometry with a relaxed headtube angle for comfortable and efficient all-day endeavors. It mixes adaptable wheel (up to 29 x 2.6″ or 27.5 x 3.0″) and drivetrain standards with modern features, and Sonder is offering the Broken Road Steel in seven unique builds and a frame-only option to suit a wide range of budgets.
As Sonder positions it, “The Broken Road ST stands out for its remarkable versatility, whether you’re seeking the excitement of a local trail ride or embarking on a breathtaking journey across continents. Its design caters to both spur-of-the-moment fun and long-haul adventures. The adjustable dropouts add to its adaptability, allowing for seamless transitions between derailleur and a single-speed setup. Additionally, the straightforward internal cabling coupled with dropper post compatibility simplifies maintenance and enhances comfort, making the Broken Road ST an ideal choice for a variety of trips.”
The frame-only option is priced at £699 ($880) including UK VAT, and complete builds range from £1,499 ($1,890) to £2,799 ($3,525). The Broken Road Steel is available in two colors and four sizes (S, M, L, XL) to fit a broad spectrum of tastes and sizes. Riders who prefer a carbon fork can also opt for Sonder’s suspension-corrected Pathfinder Fork, which features three-pack mounts on both legs and is offered for an additional £269 ($340). Frames and completes are available for purchase now and will begin shipping toward the end of next month.
