Freshened up and back in stock for 2023, the updated Standert Erdgeschoss is sporting three eye-catching new colorways and retains the same bikepacking-friendly features that have set it apart from the Berlin-based brand’s line-up since its introduction. We think this year’s “Ka-Pow! Khaki,” “Yeah! Yellow,” and “Pang! Pink,” strike a nice balance between the over-the-top combinations and subdued hues Standert has picked for the Erdgeschoss over the years. Find a quick re-introduction to their flagship gravel rig below.
Built around a stainless steel frame and a carbon Columbus Cross+ fork, the Standert Erdgeschoss is, in their words, “a versatile gravel and bikepacking frame that handles all terrain and payloads with ease.” It features clearance for 700c x 50mm or 650b x 54mm tires; an adjustable 47mm or 52mm fork offset; front and rear internal dynamo routing; a seatstay mount for a rear light; and sliding rear dropouts that allow for adjustment of the wheelbase. As for mounts, it boasts three-pack mounts on the seat tube, top of the downtube, and fork blades; top tube bag mounts; a standard bottle mount under the downtube; and rack/fender mounts.
The updated Erdgeschoss also has front and rear thru-axles (12×100/12×142), a straight headtube, a T47 bottom bracket, and a standard 27.2mm seatpost diameter. It has fully internal cable routing that can be customized for 1x, 2x, Di2, eTap, and EPS drivetrains. A 54cm frame weighs in at a modest 1,980 grams, and the Columbus fork adds around 500 grams. Framesets come with a Chris King Inset 7 headset in one of four coordinated colors.
Seven sizes are available, ranging from 48cm to 60cm. In line with the brand’s usual boutique pricing, Erdgeschoss framesets come in at €2,199/$2,422 (€1,847/$2,035 without VAT). For completes, the standard Shimano GRX 810 2×11 build costs €4,699/$5,175 (€3,948/$4,350 without VAT) and the SRAM 1x Rival XPLR eTap AXS and SRAM 1x Force XPLR eTap AXS builds add €300/$330 and €500/$550, respectively. Various other upgrade options (wheels, bottom bracket, tires, etc.) will affect the final price.
