The Stanton Switchpath Steel features a thoughtful mix of modern specs and classic aesthetics, including a chromoly steel frame, loads of mounts, and clearance for 46mm tires. Learn how to pre-order one here…
Founded in 2010 by Dan Stanton, Stanton Bikes was born out of Dan’s desire for a steel hardtail that didn’t exist. Today, the Stanton lineup includes multiple hardtail and full-suspension models in steel and titanium, as well as the Switchpath gravel bike, also available in both materials. Some models are still made in the UK, but they have expanded capacity and reach by also offering Taiwan-made options.
Pre-orders are now open for the Stanton Switchpath (Gen V), which Stanton describes as a gravel bike that “brings together the best of cycling heritage and contemporary engineering.” It features triple-butted 4130 tubing, internal cable routing, a UDH-compatible rear dropout, and clearance for 700 x 46mm tires. Other frame specs include a 30.9mm seatpost, an I.S. brake calliper mount with flat mount adapter, and a threaded bottom bracket.
The Switchpath has rack and fender mounts, two sets of bottle mounts inside the main triangle, downtube bosses, and three-pack mounts on the matching steel fork. If a steel fork isn’t your thing, Stanton has a carbon fork that can be ordered instead. They also sell different dropouts if you’re looking to run your Switchpath as a singlespeed.
Stanton offers several no-fee stock color options, as well as premium paint jobs for a fee. Custom paint jobs are also available, as is the option to select your decal color and finish. The Switchpath is available in five frame sizes (48-57cm), and all feature a 69.5° head tube angle, 73° seat tube angle, and a healthy 75mm bottom bracket drop.
